During times of financial difficulty, especially as a new mummy, I’ve spent less money on beauty products.
I wanted to share this list with you to demonstrate you don’t always have to spend a lot of money to take care of yourself. You can feel good without breaking the bank.
On the flip side, I also have a list of more expensive products which I consider to be luxury items. I usually add these to a Christmas or birthday list. Sometimes when Boots have an offer, I treat myself.
Here is the rundown of my trusted health and beauty products
Concealer
As a busy mum, concealer is the only thing I use. And it takes my face from tired and zombie-like, to somewhat fresh.
I usually buy this when there is an offer on No7 Lift & Luminate Serum Concealer.
My skin doesn’t like heavy foundation, and I even suffered after using BB cream. Instead, I use No7 primer for going out, with concealer on top. My skin looks flawless but it can also breathe.
Laucura hot cloth cleanser
This was a recommendation by a friend and it smells amazing. It’s so soothing when you leave it on in a hot bath and remove it with a cloth.
It leaves my skin feeling so fresh.
Cien face moisturiser
This is a new product I picked up when I was in Lidl. But it seems to keep my skin blemish free and is so refreshing to put on. I ran out recently and sent the hubby to buy some more on the weekly shopping list.
Nivea face moisturiser
I’m not consistent in the moisturiser I use. Therefore, I sometimes opt for the cheaper Nivea one.
It’s 99p from home bargains and I absolutely love it. It’s great for my face and to use as body lotion if needed. You just simply cannot go wrong with the price. It is a purchase I will be making soon.
Vaseline Intensive Care Cocoa butter body lotion
Another product on my must-have list. It smells amazing and makes your skin so soft.
Clearskin Facial Exfoliator for Pore & Shine Control
This amazing little tube of goodness from Avon leaves your face feeling fresh. Even on tired days. The scrub isn’t too harsh either. I particularly love the smell. It’s amazing.
Radox Bath Soak
Pre-pregnancy I was an achy one, but with a lack of sleep and a post-pregnancy body to contend with, I need Radox in my life.
A nice hot bath with this added, gives my muscles a good soak, and a little recharge, and I genuinely feel better and more refreshed afterward.
Foot scrub
Every now and then I love to scrub my feet in the bath with this No7 foot scrub. It makes me feel pampered and removes dead skin. We also have a foot spa and a lot of soothing products to use if we have more time to spare.
Little feet treat.
Aussie haircare
I just love the smell. It reminds me of my younger days when I had to buy nourishing hair care products because I straightened my hair too much. These days my hair is in a mum bun or tied up for nights out. I let it do its curly thing. I stopped fighting with my hair a long time ago.
For an affordable treat, I buy Aussie. And I am never disappointed.
Round up
I hope you enjoyed reading about the self-care products I can’t live without.
Great suggestions! I really need to get into the habit of using my moisturizer daily but I’ll definitely try your suggestions once I finish mine up. I love body lotion and the Vaseline one sounds amazing, so I’ll be adding this to my list too! Thank you so much for sharing x
Glad you found the list useful. I sometime struggle to stay in a self-care routine too x
These all look like wonderful products but I particularly would like to try the Hot Cloth Cleanser. Thanks for sharing about these.
