I wanted to share with you some of the fun festive activities we’ve booked throughout December, to get our little one excited for the Christmas period. This post will also include some creative crafts we planned at home.
Join us on a tour of our festive activities…
Breakfast with Santa
Toby Carvery offers a great breakfast with Santa. The adults get to enjoy the breakfast buffet and unlimited hot and cold drinks. There is then a section to take the children over to Santa. It was honestly magical to see my little one interacting with Santa and letting him know what presents she wanted. I must say, Santa was also great at interacting with the little ones. Always a bonus for parents!
The local Christmas light switch on
When she is a little bit older, we will venture further afield to a bigger light switch on, like Blackpool. But this year she loved the local one. The lights are right next to her preschool, and every night she points at them and gets excited.

Letter to Santa
We bought a pack including a letter to Santa. As my hubby works for a delivery company, we’ve had the chat about Daddy delivering Christmas presents! We even have a reply from Santa to print out for Christmas eve.
Paint a wreath or tree decorations
We have a creative child and therefore, she loves pottery painting. Instead of buying a traditional Christmas wreath this year, I decided to purchase a lovely pottery one I found. This means we can decorate it for this year and have it as a keepsake for years to come.

Paint a nutcracker
We were recently in Aldi and the large nutcracker ornaments were lovely. But given our money situation and the fact we are trying to get back on track after a period of financial instability. I decided to purchase the much cheaper and smaller, paint-your-own nutcracker.
Santa on TikTok
My recent TikTok scrolling session, produced me passing by a Santa live on TikTok. We are now so advanced, this is the new way to contact Santa. Our little one loved watching it for a while. Hehe!
Listen to Christmas music or watch a Christmas film & put the fireplace on
Spoiler alert, we don’t have a fireplace in our house. But we do have YouTube to create the same feeling. My hubby is literally like Arthur Christmas, and therefore, we have a lot of Christmas singing and dancing sessions in our house. As I write, we are all listening to Christmas music. Hubby and little one are having a painting session. She has got bored and he is finishing off our Christmas ornaments.
